At-Home Art Challenge

The Bushwick Book Club Seattle and Washington State Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna invite you to share a window into your world.

The artwork in Cecilia Vicuña’s Saborami offers joy and whimsy alongside serious politics. Born in a time when Chile shut down and everything changed forever, Vicuña’s light persisted. The Bushwick Book Club Seattle wants to know: how are you seeing the world today? With the country shutting down and everything changing forever, how are you experiencing joy? If you kept a daily journal of magic conveyed through household aesthetics, how would it look? Bushwick invites you to share an image, collage, drawing, or musing built from everyday items. Our spontaneity and spirit persist.

“the absolute joy of an instant can’t be perpetuated”
“the concern for Here and Now cannot be expressed in a lasting piece because then it would be a concern for the Here and Now and A Little Bit later”
“art should be done by everyone”
