The Bookshelf Report is an ongoing series where a Bushwick reader invites us into their home and shares a little bit about the books that occupy their shelves.
Today’s bookshelf comes from none other than Tom Mohrman. Tom is an avid supporter of the Seattle arts community and an all around nice guy. He is the creator of Wonder and Risk – an awesome website dedicated to highlighting the creative minds that help make Seattle such an amazing place to live.
How do you organize your books?
I’ve tried by color. It’s cute, and nigh impossible to find anything. I kind of favor by category now, grouping authors/subjects. What you see is my paired-down collection. I’ve recently donated a bunch of stuff.

10 Quotes From Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein
/1 Comment/in Quotes /by Mike VotavaMary Shelley was just twenty years of age when Frankenstein was first published back in 1818. Man, that was a long time ago. Fast forward nearly 200 years later to present day – our Bushwick book scientists worked around the clock to hand select the 10 best quotes from this ancient tomb. But they didn’t stop there. They went so far as to convert Mary Shelley’s primordial analog words into a futuristic digital format specifically designed to delight your visual senses and stimulate your non-zombie brains.
And stimulate they will…

The Hardest Books You’ve Never Read
/3 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Cassie CrossThe other day on Buzzfeed, Louis Peitzman put together a list of the 25 Most Challenging Books You Will Ever Read. It got me thinking about difficult books. Hard books. Challenging books. What’s the deal with those guys? Read more

/0 Comments/in Song of the Week /by Sean MorseImagine you just got hit in the head with something that might have been part of your house. Imagine you’re a young woman in blue and white checked gingham. Imagine your friends have extremely limited powers of self-reflection. You just want to help, so you tell them everything you love and respect about them, the things they themselves can’t seem to see. Then they sing along in glorious harmony and agreement at how awesome they are. This is the story of Dorothy’s friends, and how they learned to love themselves.
