The Poster For Our Next Event: Original Music Inspired By To Kill A Mockingbird

The next Bushwick event is coming up on March 5th at the Royal Room – original music inspired by Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird. Check out the poster below, designed by myself.

And this is no ordinary show, it  is the first of many events that are a part of Bushwick’s new education program STYLE (Songwriting Through Youth Literature Education). All week long the STYLE teaching artists have been putting on a workshop educating the students of Aki Kurose Middle School about songwriting and reading comprehension. The show on March 2nd serves as the grand finale of the workshop. The students themselves will be performing their very own To Kill A Mockingbird inspired tunes that they composed during the workshop. A handful of Bushwick regulars will be performing as well. Pretty cool, eh? I think so.
